The Fund News

Congratulations and Farewell to Lucy Vandenberg

We are proud to share the news that Lucy Vandenberg will be the next Executive Director of the Schumann Fund for New Jersey , a role she will assume in January 2022. This is well-deserved recognition of her talents and expertise, and we are very glad Lucy will continue to be a leader in the state’s philanthropic community. We congratulate Lucy and her new colleagues at the Schumann Fund on this happy occasion.  At the same time, it is a bittersweet moment for all of us at The Fund for New Jersey, as we prepare for Lucy's departure on December 31. Since Lucy joined our team in 2013, she has been a critical driver of The Fund’s growing impact and its success. As senior program officer, Lucy has helped The Fund immeasurably. Her commitment to racial and economic equity and to climate justice has fueled initiatives ranging from accelerating mission-related investing and ending childhood lead poisoning to making our grants process more effective and equitable. Furthermore, Lucy has been an ideal colleague and a first-rate thought partner. All of us at The Fund appreciate Lucy’s leadership and contributions and we will miss her.  Please join us in congratulating Lucy, saluting the excellent work she has done at The Fund, and wishing her all the best in her new role leading the Schumann Fund for New Jersey.
